International Conference on Ultracold Atoms, Molecules, Ions and Their Manipulation by Light

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) hosted the International Conference on Ultracold Atoms, Molecules, Ions, and Their Manipulation by Light from 10–13 December 2025.

The conference brought together leading researchers in ultracold atomic and molecular physics, trapped ions, cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED), ultrafast physics, and quantum gases. The scientific program features plenary and invited talks across seven themed sessions, including Cold Molecules, Ultracold Atoms, Trapped Ions, Cavity QED with Quantum Gases, and Ultrafast Physics.

Chaired by internationally recognized experts, the meeting aims to foster collaboration and discussion on the latest experimental and theoretical advances in light–matter interaction, quantum simulation, precision measurement, and emerging quantum technologies.

The event highlights HKU’s growing role as a regional hub for quantum science research and provides a platform for academic exchange among researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students from around the world.
